James M. Moschella has dedicated his career to representing NYPD members and others at all levels of administrative, civil and criminal proceedings. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in the area of civil rights litigation, and frequently handles civil rights cases concerning allegations of abuse of police authority, corruption, wrongful death and excessive force. He has a great deal of trial experience before administrative, state and federal courts in both civil and criminal matters. Jim comes from a family of New York City Police Officers and firefighters, and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant and serving as an infantry squad leader. In addition to serving with Philip Karasyk as General Counsel to the NYPD’s Detectives Endowment Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association and New York City Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association Inc., Jim serves as Counsel to the NYPD’s Columbia Association and its members, and as special counsel to the Uniformed Fire Officers Association of the New York City Fire Department.
